Waterford Valley, Chiang Rai

Northern Thailand

Ideal for a golf holiday, with its long mountain ranges, wide valleys and spectacular jungle scenery within easy reach of culture rich cities. It has pleasant weather year-round because of the altitude it’s a little cooler than other regions. The regional capital of Chiang Mai, 480 miles from Bangkok, has the biggest number of golf courses, most with magnificent views of surrounding hills and valleys. Chiang Rai, three hours drive further north, has two championship courses in picturesque settings. (Click Here)

Samui 16

Santiburi Samui, Koh Samui

Southern Thailand

With its major resort towns on the southern peninsula it is known for its pristine beaches and first-class facilities. The island of Phuket off the western coast has some of the country’s best courses, including the Blue Canyon Resort, host to the Johnnie Walker Classic in 1998. The island of Samui has the spectacular new Samui Country Club, it’s a short hop from Phuket by plane. The southern courses have been carved out of tin-mine workings and coconut plantations, and are set against spectacular backdrops of ocean, mountains and wooded hills(Click Here)

Western Thailand

Golf is centred on the Hua Hin area, it’s a family beach resort town on the Gulf of Thailand, with excellent hotel accommodation. The weather on the coastline here is pleasant for most of the year, with cooling breezes offering respite from the sun even in the hottest months. The courses are well laid out and sculptured with plenty of water hazards and other challenges (Click Here)

Khao Kheow, Pattaya

Eastern Thailand

Some of the most famous names in golf have created impressive layouts with first-class facilities out of rocky and sandy terrain. Golfing action is centred around Pattaya just two hours drive from the capital.

About two hours north east of Bangkok Airport is Khao Yai, the largest protected area in the country, it enjoys the status of a National Pack. The area is at a fairly high altitude, so the weather is pleasant all year round, with temperatures averaging 5-7 degrees Celsius lower than in Bangkok. There are several beautiful courses.(Click Here)

Bangkok and Surroundings

Bangkok has many courses, but it is the city itself that provides the main reason for a stay. (Click Here)

However, near Khao Yai National Park, about two and half hours drive north east of Bangkok Airport there are a number of beautiful (courses) and we recommend three in particular. All are scenic, well maintained and interesting to play. For those staying nearby the (Kirimaya Resort and Spa) is well situated in beautiful countryside about two miles from the entrance to the park. Day trips are available to explore the park and it’s wildlife, locally and from Bangkok (Click Here)
